• Here’s a big surprise — Lions Gate have announced a September 3rd release date for the Vulgar DVD! That’s right, Vulgar may be in your homes in just a few short months. We’re wondering what the disc will include, since this seems like a very tight schedule as far as a jam-packed View Askew DVD goes, but we’ll keep you posted. It’s possible that this release date could get moved, or perhaps a Special Edition will come out further down the line if this one doesn’t have all the extras that were intended. It’s been long rumored that the missing Dogma: SE documentary would be one of the possible extras on this disc, making it quite the collectible for View Askew fans everywhere. We’ll keep you posted on further developments on the DVD release of Vulgar.

• Well the day is finally here, you can now own your very own copies of “Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back” AND the long-awaited and rarely seen “Drawing Flies” on DVD! Both are also out in VHS versions at your local video store. We of course urge you to check out both of these flicks, and, if you’re a DVD owner, BUY ‘EM! Our Jay & Bob DVD review went up last week, and, with apologies to Malcolm, our Drawing Flies DVD review is still on the way. We wanted to get the review up by today, and it’s partially written already, but instead of doing it half-assed we want to do it right. So, bear with us, we promise to have that for you very soon, and that the disc isn’t deserving of the reviews that have been popping up elsewhere. Be sure and buy copies of both! • Our advance copies of the Drawing Flies DVD arrived today, along with a test pressing of Jay & Bob Disc 2, so we’re starting to compile our reviews of these discs for your viewing pleasure. Watch this site next week for your first look at menus, screenshots, and lots more from these 2 highly anticipated releases! From a quick look, both discs look to be packed with material, so you’ll have plenty of stuff to check out in a couple of weeks at home. • Big news for those of you waiting to finally get your chance to check out this rarely-seen View Askew Production, Malcolm Ingram’s “Drawing Flies”, starring Jason Lee (with a supporting cast full of Askew regulars, including Mewes in his first non-Jay role). The DVD release may actually happen on the SAME DAY as Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, that’s right, February 26, 2002! The folks at IndieDVD are working feverishly to get things ready, and have been kind enough to allow us to debut this cover for the disc, plus in the coming weeks we’ll have some of the other scrapped cover art ideas, extras info, and even information on a VHS release. Stay tuned, more Flies news on the way!

• Great news just came in from Vincent. His “A Better Place” DVDs will street on August 21st (Yes, it’s OFFICIAL!) and copies ordered signed from the Stash are set to ship on Friday, August 17th or Monday, August 20th at the latest. Yep, that’s right, just a couple weeks until you can own your very own copy of this OUTSTANDING disc, or, for many of you, watch it for the very first time. Sit tight, it won’t be long now!

• Here ya go, folks. It won’t be long now! The DVD jacket has been finalized for the A Better Place Special Edition, and here it is! Click the thumbnail to get a look at it in all its glory. It’s going to be a great, packed disc, so if you didn’t get that preorder in, do it now. You don’t wanna miss out. Thanks to Vincent for sending it our way.

• Vincent was kind enough to hook us up with the final two screenshots from the “A Better Place” DVD, which reveal some cool stuff about the release. First of all, the deleted scenes not only have scene by scene access (thankfully), but also a very nice menu system for getting around to re-watch your favorites. Even cooler, they’ve packed the disc with even more by adding a comparison of the original sound mix to the new Skywalker 5.1 sound mix. You won’t believe the difference that a remix can make. Anyway, check out the screens, and don’t forget to order your disc from the Stash to get all the signatures and film clipping! Street date is June 19th.
