Who’s in it? Matt Damon, Soleil Moon Frye, Ben Affleck
What’s it about? He’s played a down-and-out janitor, an overzealous dinner-theater patron, and a wise-cracking mackerel — only to be snubbed by Oscar for his acting chops each time. Now, courtesy of good friend Kevin Smith, Damon takes on his toughest (and most accolade-worthy) role yet: a multi-limbed hooker with a heart of gold. “After Holy Mackerel finished, I wanted to jump into something real,” Damon says, still smarting from the numerous estrogen shots required for his role. “Goldie’s the most personal, toughest, and Oscar-worthy role I’ve ever played.” Old buddy Affleck is again along for the ride, playing a drunken john who teaches Damon the meaning of life. “I was touched by the script,” says Damon’s Good Will Hunting buddy. “Kevin wrote this really funny 18-page scene about paper towel rolls, ‘Chico and the Man’ and flatulence, and I was amazed by how real it was.”
Our prediction: Can you say Oscar?
