• The nominees for the prestigious Eisner Awards for comics were recently announced (and posted at Comic Book Resources) and, although Kevin Smith didn’t get a nod for any writing gigs, Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti brought home a nomination for Best Cover Artist(s) for their work on Smith’s “Daredevil” run. Congrats, guys. You deserve it!
• Oni Press has posted Oni Double Feature #12’s date at the site, and, interestingly enough, it’s a week earlier thanwe’d originally anticipated! The book’s now due on May 5th, according to the site. We’ll change the date in thecountdown until we hear otherwise.

Also, while it’s not Askew related, we’ve got a really interesting (and EXCLUSIVE!) scoop here: Oni has a tentative agreement to do a Blair Witch comic!!! And trust us, with Oni behind it, we’re sure it’ll be as cool and unique as the flick.

• Another Kevin Smith spotting : In Nova Issue #1, Kevin’s name gets dropped (instead of the usual Jay & Silent Bob mention!).
• Finally today, just a reminder: Those Indianapolis View Askew screenings are happening this Friday. The General Cinema theater at Clearwater Crossing in Indianapolis, IN is showing Clerks this Fiday night (4/23/99) at midnight, and Mallrats on Saturday (4/24/99), also at midnight. Admission for both shows is $5.
