- Mr. Showbiz kindly plugs News Askew briefly in a piece today, but again refers to us as “HIS” [Kevin’s] site! When will they learn we’re an indie fan site, man?? Someday, perhaps, the netizens will get this all straight. But hell, we’ll take what we can get for now!
- “The Prophets” website (whose tagline, that we so admire & envy, is “Updated Daily, If We’re Sober” — Why didn’t WE think of that?) congratulated Kev & Jen in a very humorous way on Harley’s arrival:
The Prophets want to take this opportunity to congratulate our favorite writer/director, Kevin Smith, and his lovely wife Jennifer (who did most of the work) on today’s birth of their daughter, Harley Quinn Smith. The Lady Harley is born with incredible writing genes from both her mother and her father, so we here at Prophets are expecting her to win a Pulitzer Prize by 2029.
Harley, the 20 members of this site wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Planet Earth and wish you well on your journey. We also wanted to let your father know how much we have relished his work in the past and how much we look forward to seeing the works he will create which will be greatly influenced by your arrival. Truly, this is a joyous day for all of us VA lurkers and Kevin Smith fan boys and girls around here and at View Askew. May your first words be “Bill Donohue can kiss my daddy’s ass.”
Have fun watching Happy Scrappy Hero Pup a thousand times, Jen and Kev.
Hey, we like these guys.
- From Aussie-Land: A publication called “Juice” has named Clerks the 77th greatest film of the 90’s, and Chasing Amyas number 33! Clerks is referred to as “not only the ultimate slacker film, but also an inspiration to a generation.”Oh, and since we’ve got Simpsons on the brain, our scooper also tells us the Aussies did NOT appreciate the humor in thathilarious “booting” episode — You remember, the one where Bart prank calls long distance to have the kid check which way thewater turns when his toilet flushes and hilarity ensues? Classic stuff. At least Canadians think that South Park Terrance& Philip episode is funny — Ummm…Don’t they?
- Sean appreciates all the mail he got on his Preacher website plea yesterday, by the way, and tells us he’s sifting trhough heaps of mail. He’ll get back to you ASAP! He also said response was overwhelming, and that we must have a TON of visitors here at the site, which makes us happy.
Whew! That was a bigger update than we thought! Catch ya at the next one.
