- Jim Mahfood has corrected/clarified his statement on the TALK magazine Clerks comics premiere…
Should be very cool. Hopefully the gang will be kind enough to allow reprints here at the site. We’ll still recommend you buy the issues too, of course, for collector’s sake.
- DVD File now also confirms that the Chasing Amy DVD slated for release in Canada next month is listed only as “widescreenâ€, not 16:9 anamorphic. Keep in mind, though, that Alliance did the same thing with their Good Will Hunting DVD and released it anamorphic anyway, even though the packaging did not even indicate it! Hopefully we can get clarification on this from the folks mastering the disc so you can at least have a final answer. We figure we’ll get the disc either way. It’s worth it.
- Moriarty, one of the more frequent contributors to the AICN website, checked in with his top 10 must see flick before Y2K hits…And includes Dogma (and some slight SPOILER MATERIAL, so be careful):
Maybe it’s because of my own religious background. Maybe it’s because I’ve liked Kevin Smith’s other films and I’m curious about how he’s growing as an artist. Maybe it’s because it’s one of the few scripts out there I intentionally haven’t read. Whatever the reason, I am about to go frickin’ nuts from the wait for this comedy. For once, I’m not sure what to make sure of the snippets of info I keep hearing. George Carlin as a Catholic Cardinal? Linda Fiorentino as a descendant of Christ? Chris Rock as the 13th apostle? Affleck and Damon as murderous fallen angels? Alanis Morrisette as God? Jay and Silent Bob as… well, as Jay and Silent Bob? It sounds really, really confusing right now, and I love it.
- And hey, what’s this? We think this may be the first official capsule summary of Dogma out there, courtesy of The Village Voice:
Whew! What a workout! Time for a beer or something…See ya next time.
