“In this film, Doc Mumford sits around and listens…[to]…the town’s skateboarding millionaire-whiz kid (Jason Lee) who just needs someone to talk to because just about everyone in Mumford works for his incredibly sucessful modem company and, he feels, aren’t honest with him.”Lee plays his part the way a young Jimmy Stewart might have, and even his character’s name, Skip Skipperton, sounds like someone Stewart might have played in, say, a smalltown screwball comedy by Preston Sturges or Howard Hawks.”
  • Is the Dogma novelization still coming out? Kevin hasn’t been saying anything about working on it, but Borders booksseems to think it’s on the way.. It was supposed to arrive a few weeks ago, but it has probably been pushed back to match the release of the movie. It will sell for $22.95. The interesting thing is that it’s not listed in Science Fiction or Media, but in Literature. Classy! We still dunno if this is just a computer error, or if the book’s on the way, butif we hear anything this will be the place to find out about it.
  • The AMC theater in Hampton, VA is showing “Clerks” tonight at midnight. Go see it…AGAIN!
  • iF Magazine put a small Dogma writeup online about the run-in they had with Smith, Mosier, & Mewes in Toronto. Youcan read the blurb HERE.
  • Dogma Soundtrack update: According to Alanis, in a KROQ interview, they just finished mixing the version to be used of “Still” two nights ago at 4 AM. They should have completed the master yesterday. No word was given on on what else was instore for the soundtrack at this point, though.

A Jay & Bob Cameo In Scream 3?

  • By now, many of you have heard the rumors from Reel & AICN about a possible appearance of Jay & Silent Bob in “Scream 3”. We’d heard about it too, and a source tells us that the deal’s been signed at that it will happen. We have yet to get any verification on this from any of the key players or the studio, though, so consider it a rumor as far as we’re concerned. Of course, now that the cat’s out of the bag on it, though, perhaps things will change. We kinda feel that things like this really should be kept under wraps. With the net these days, though, there’s just not much room left for surprise in films anymore, someone ALWAYS lets stuff slip out. It would have been an amazing surprise to see the duo appear in the flick (Which, by the way, we hope is better than that dismal “Scream 2”), but now it’ll just be more like, “Okay, there’s the Jay & Silent Bob cameo”. Remember how funny it was seeing Robert Patrick pop up in “Wayne’s World” as the T-1000? Not expecting it was part of the fun. Hopefully the producers won’t balk and pull the cameo now that the cat’s outta the bag. Ah well.

Is this the big appearance of Jay & Bob Kevin talked about in his post earlier? We’re not sure. Maybe. He said to expect something in January, and Scream’s due around Christmas. Close though. Another source tells us that friends of his who publish video games have been approached with the possibility of creating a videogame (or CD-ROM of sorts) featuring Jay & Silent Bob. We hear this one’s not true, sorry to say. Perhaps folks are waiting to see how Dogma fares until they go further with Jay & Bob projects.

Whatever the case, we think the guys are hilarious, and it’s great to see that they’ve become such known figures that they’re doing the cameo thing. Good news all around.

  • Ah, the weekend. And a beautiful one at that here in Central PA. Winter’s on the way in a few months (easily the worst time of the year to live around here) but it’s nice to see some Sunny, summer-like weather in September for a few more days. Of course, we’re sitting inside now to work on this update, but hey, duty calls, right?

There’s a few rumors running around that we want to talk about today, not that we’ve gotten any confirmation on anything (we’ve been waiting for that) but enough of you have been writing in and asking so we thought we’d bring it up. The counter WILL come back, for those of you wondering, and we’re keeping track of hits, so the number WILL be accurate when the thing finally does work again.

Welp, not much more to say…Thought there would be, but, heck with it…Let’s get going:
