In today’s Salon magazine, there’s an edition of Ruben Bolling’s “Tom The Dancing Bug” comic strip featuring Bolling’s character God-Man…Basically, the traditional image of God done up as a superhero. In this adventure, our hero runs afoul of one Blasphemy Boy (who looks suspiciously like a certain New Jersey-based filmmaker) who is planning a satirical movie script about beliefs on God-Man. God-Man, having no defense against satire, is defeated, and the universe slides toward evil…a nicely humorous commentary on the unneeded hoopla over Dogma.
