  • Jay Mewes will be making a rare public appearance next month, according to a DJ at a radio station on Long Island. We’ll let him take over with all the details on Jay’s appearance on his show, and the autograph session afterwards:
Jay Wulff here from 92.7 and 98.5 FM, WLIR radio out of Garden City, Long Island. I am pleased to announce that Jason Mewes will be coming up on my radio show “One Step Beyond” for an interview/ hang out session, followed by an appearance at local college bar “Bogart’s” in Uniondale, LI on Sunday, March 26. We will be on the radio from 6-7 PM EST, and then heading to Bogart’s and hanging out from around 7:30-9:00 PM. Jay will be signing stuff and meeting fans (21 and over, please). There may be a small cover charge to get in to the bar, but once inside, autographs will be free. There will be some inside tips for underage fans who want to meet Jay posted on our website as of Monday, March 20 www.skaradio.com. People outside of the tri-state area can listen to the show live in real Audio format at the website, and we also have a busy chatroom at teh site as well, where fans can chat with us live in the studio. It should be an amazing event and we’re all really psyched about it at the show.

  • We may stop printing stories that are just re-hashes of existing news we’ve already reported, but just to let ya know, both Showbiz Data and the Internet Movie Database ran the following piece, with no new news, just a summary on the Clerks TCS stuff we’ve been reporting here as of late:
Smith Wants To Turn Animated TV Series Into A Movie

Miramax, which bought back Kevin Smith’s feature Dogma from parent Disney after it bacame embroiled in criticism — and then sold it to Lion’s Gate — has been approached by Smith to buy back the rights to his animated sitcom Clerks, reedit it, and release it as a feature, the online edition of Entertainment Weekly reported Monday. Smith told EW: “The idea of taking a movie and turning it into a cartoon that never airs on TV but instead becomes a movie — that’d be trippy.” Smith also says that he regrets signing a deal with ABC for the series to begin with, particularly after his experience with Dogma. “It just burns my ass because we had other places we could have gone,” he told EW. Smith expressed outrage last week when he learned that ABC had decided not to air the show until May 31.

  • In the bizarre title of the year department, Alanis Morissette will appear with Shirley Knight and Andrea Martin in”The Vagina Monologues” at New York’s Westside Theater from March 21 through April 2. For more info, click HERE.
  • Finally today, as a followup to the Chasing Amy DVD rant last time, DVD File lists mulvaney@criterionco.com as the e-mail contact for Criterion projects. So if you really wanna try and get more information, we’d suggest sending a POLITE letter their way. They’re still undecided on a release date, last we’ve heard, though.

Thanks for checking in with us today. We’ll see you again soon!
