Kevin Appears Twice More On Howard Stern Radio Show…

June 2nd @ 6:41 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Joe C.K., Jer

  • Sounds like Kevin should be asking for a paycheck from the Howard Stern Morning Radio Show soon! He’s made 2 more appearances on the air this week, bringing his total to 3! Kevin’s always been a huge fan and supporter of Howard’s, so we’re sure he’s enjoying getting on the air with him. Even better, it always gives him a chance to plug the latest project (Clerks cartoon) and The Stash. Here’s a summary of the 2 appearances, thanks to our scoopers and Stern website marksfriggin.com:
#1 (Wednesday Morning)

Previous Information Regarding An On-Air Millionaire-like game, where Kev was called by Howard as a lifeline…>

Director Kevin Smith, who owns a comic book store, was on the phone to help answer the ”Darkside” question. Howard broke the news that his cartoon ”Clerks” did pretty well last night. Gary had given Howard the ratings break down from last night earlier in the show. ”Clerks” beat out the showing of ”Species” on CBS but was also beaten by the basketball game that was on against it. The game had a 21 rating while ”Clerks” had a respectable 7.6. Howard told Kevin that he still wants to see it so Kevin said he’d send him all 6 episodes. KC liked the cartoon but Fred didn’t. Kevin it was nice to hear Fred’s honesty. Kevin said that the next week’s show could be be the last to air, since the other four shows were labeled with a date “To Be Announced.”

#2 (Thursday Morning):

For the third day in a row Kevin was on Howard again!!! Kevin acted as a lifeline for Howard as Howard played “Who Wants to be a Robin Radzinski Millionaire.” The prize being the chance to feel Robin Radzinski’s breasts. The question that had Howard stumped was “What Fantastic Four Villian lived in Latveria?” Stuttering John offered another lifeline in Ralph, the show set designer. Howard replied, “I’m going with Kevin Smith.” Kevin got to plug Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash and joked about being a show regular. He gave Howard the right answer which is Dr. Doom. Just so you know, Howard did win the the prize (he lost yesterday).

So, there ya have it, Kev’s got some damn fine comic knowledge there for sure. Coincidentally, if anyone tapes the show and managed to get these bits, we’d love a copy to post in RealAudio on the site. Let us know if you’ve got ‘em. Thanks!

  • The FX Network will be showing Mallrats on Sunday at 8 PM EST, so check your local listings for the time near you. If you missed Rats when ABC aired it on TV, you may wanna check it out. We’re not sure if this will be the same cut-up version or not, but it’s really fun to hear the awful dubbing and obscenity replacement. Something tells us that FX is one of those networks that just uses a silent bleep and zooms for nude scenes, so we’re not sure how this one will turn out.
  • We’re pretty sure this is a new interview with Mewes, courtesy of the ABC site. Check it out.
  • We’ve got a much easier to read of the transcript for the AOL/TV Guide chat up now, thanks to one of the folks who ran the session.
  • If you haven’t had enough of Clerks discussion from what’s been going on here, Wizard’s also got a forum dedicated to the topic, we’re told.

For the second day this week, Kevin participated in another live online chat last evening via the America Online service and TV Guide. The guy’s sharp wit and fun nature were in full effect last night, as this transcript certainly shows. There’s a few interesting tidbits of new information here, but again, regular News Askew readers probably won’t find too much of it shocking. Still, Kev’s responses, especially given the speed at which he had to come up with some of them, are priceless. Clerks Ratings: Early Predictions

June 1st @ 9:21 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

We’ve got some early ratings from last night’s premiere, though they’re just for the New York area, they will hopefully be fairly representative of the rest of the country. Keep in mind that this may change when the real ratings are announced, but this is what we heard: Clerks drew a 7.5 share last night, just a slight drop off from Drew Carey‘s 10.9 lead-in. The Knicks had a 20.4 share though, but again, considering they’re a New York team, this may have taken a lot of potential Clerks viewers away. Clerks also beat the post-Survivor competition from CBS, that “Species” flick. So that’s cool. By the way, Survivor was a way cool show. Worth checking out next week for sure. It’s a bit overdramatic at times, a “Road Rules” wannabe for sure, but it’s good television.

Anyway, take this with a grain of salt due to it just being New York. Still, that’s not too bad, actually it’s quite promising.

Clerks Episode #4 (Premiere): Your Thoughts?

June 1st @ 8:42 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • There’s been so much going on in the talkbacks we thought we’d post a special story here just for you to use to chat about the show. Feel free to post what you liked, what you didn’t like, your favorite moments, and anything else that’s on your mind. We both thought that last night’s show was the best of the bunch, but if you didn’t like it, never fear, you may like one of the others more. Next week’s episode is #2, the “flashback show”, so expect a bit of confusion. It’s still got some fantastic moments, though, including another classic ending that movie buffs will get a real kick out of.

We’ll have some preliminary ratings from last night and more soon!
