• Just days after Kevin had the crowd and the net all buzzing about the possibility of Good Will Hunting being mentioned or Will’s appearance in View Askew 5 comes this story from today’s Houston Chronicle. Not only is this the first real script tidbit/detail we have on View Askew 5, but it’s a spoiler if you don’t want the joke ruined. So, as always, read at your own risk by swiping the text below:

• DVD Review posted this story regarding the upcoming home video release of Drawing Flies. In case ya missed our announcement during Vulgarthon, yes, you WILL have your chance to own a copy of this rarely seen View Askew Production, thanks to IndieDVD! We spoke with Jonah Loeb, the president of the company, at Vulgarthon, who should be in touch with us throughout the production. Here’s their story:

• The IMDB’s added some material to their View Askew 5 site, and we anticipate there’s gonna be more real soon after our latest news story. Keep your eyes out.
• Ben Affleck is on the warpath in support of VP Gore. From the AP:

• The Dogma trailer appears on the just released Heavy Metal 2000 DVD. The flick’s actually pretty good, too, and worth a watch if you’re a fan of action or animated stuff.

• That’s right, some of you waited for it, some of you dreaded it, and some of you were…well…just plain ambivalent, but now it’s here: The News Askew Vulgarthon 2000 Wrapup is now online! • It’s getting the finishing touches now, so expect to see our massive Vulgarthon 2000: On Location story later on today. As mentioned earlier, there was just too much going on (and not the right equipment and/or talent) in our hands to take our own photos of the event, so, if you’d like a chance to have your photos appear on the page, send them in. Today, we’d especially love to have some to use with our story itself, so any photos you have of the Q&A panels, introductions, or candid stuff that happened outside while folks were signing or just hanging out, that’d be great. Also, a photo or two of the Holiday Inn ruckus and the line that gathered outside would be great. Maybe a picture or two of the Stash? Anything and everything. We’ll pick our faves, and you’ll get full photo credit with the story.

• That’s right, folks, we have just received confirmation from distributors that the Clerks Animated Series DVD and VHS will see release on FEBRUARY 20, 2001! The VHS will retail for $19.99, the DVD for $29.99. Distribution is being handled by Buena Vista Home Entertainment (translated: It’ll be next to impossible to get an advanced copy of the disc). Here’s a scan of the release, click it for a closer look. There’s no new artwork done for the DVD, though we assume Chris Bailey will have something to do with that, thus, the notice is pretty boring right now. It doesn’t even tout any of the coolspecial features being added. At any rate, it’s nice to have a date to mark on the calendar. Now, to work on that Dogma Special Edition DVD date…

• This is one of the bigger stories of the past week, if not THE biggest, so we thought we’d clarify and complete the
  list with the couple folks we missed in the process (Note especially the addition of Ethan Suplee and Scott Mosier’s part
  to the list). It’s nice to go back and clean up an update that we did at 1:30 AM after watching 15 hours of movies.
