  • Damon & Affleck’s reality series has indeed gotten the greenlight and will air this September on ABC. I for one say that their “The Mole” was a pretty decent show, but this one’s really intriguing. Will they be able to make it work with just one contestant and the world looking for them? And what happens if someone finds this guy or gal one week into the show? Will they show dead air for the rest of the season? Certainly an interesting concept, and ABC probably has prepared for any possible outcome, so I guess we’ll see what happens:
ABC Plans A Run For The Money

ABC on Wednesday provided advertisers with details about the Matt Damon/Ben Affleck-produced reality series The Runner, due to debut on Sept. 3. ABC Entertainment co-chairman Lloyd Braun said that one contestant will be given 28 days to try to cross the country without being identified by viewers, who will be given clues about his location on the show, on the Internet and on other ABC primetime programs. The contestant, who if successful would win $1 million (he’ll receive part of that amount for every day he evades capture), will receive advice from an ex-CIA agent, while viewers (who could receive the same amount for capturing him) will receive clues from a former police detective. “We believe this show will become a national obsession as groups of viewers form syndicates” around the country to try and catch the runner,” Braun said. He added that he expected it to become “one of the biggest hits we’ve ever had at this network.”
