- The Comingsoon.net website have posted a short piece with Kevin, where he reveals that he’s written a cameo for Chevy Chase in his “Fletch Won†film:
Most people would know by now that Kevin Smith (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) plans to make his own film version based on the “Fletch†novels. I had the opportunity to talk to Smith this morning about his planned film. First of all, Smith says it won’t start filming until next year. And besides the fact that Jason Lee is pencilled in for the lead, Smith is going to approach Chevy Chase with an offer to do a cameo in the film. That way, fans of the original “Fletch†films won’t feel ripped off. Meantime, Australian cinemagoers are up in arms over Miramax’s decision to postpone “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back†to February 2002. It was originally supposed to come out in two weeks.
- Last night’s Conan O’Brien show featured a clip of Dogma, where Ben Affleck’s head explodes, when a special effects guy appearing on the program mentioned his involement with the flick. We assume it was FX dude Vincent Guastini, though we can’t confirm that.
- Kevin is the “Celebrity of the Week†at the IMDB.
- UK Press: Ali Larter and Eliza Dushku are interviewed about their roles in J&SBSB in the latest “Total Film†magazine, along with a positive review of the film.
- Australian Fans can see Kevin’s new short this weekend, as the Pay TV channel Fox 8 is screening The Concert For New York City at 8:30 PM on Sunday Night.
