• Great, great news from Kevin that we kept forgetting to post – There will indeed be an after-party (or a pre-party, depening on your Vulgarthon attendance) at a bowling alley in Red Bank, NJ. The band Merrick will be rocking the joint along with bowling, beer, and pizza! It sounds like a blast, in fact, we’ll likely hafta show up for this one and sacrifice some sleep before returning to work Tuesday. Here’s Kevin with the good news:

• Disney has officially confirmed that “Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back” is set for a video/DVD release on February 12, 2002. We’ve got no details yet, of course, and aren’t sure if the flick’s DVD again will be a slimmed down version in lieu of a large SE later in the year. We haven’t heard many details on the disc yet, which tells us that the DVD in February will probably be a movie only deal, as there’s bound to be a TON of work to do on the disc, including commentaries, that famous documentary, deleted scenes, and lots more. It’s bound to be the best disc yet in the View Askew library. We’ll keep digging for more details on this breaking story as the days go on. Stay tuned.

• We’ve been receiving many details on the recent J&SBSB preview in Australia. Word has it that audiences there loved the screening, and that a Buena Vista rep there declared it “such a fun film” that they had to keep the screening scheduled despite the delayed release. The flick is still scheduled for February 2002, but there’s a rumor that the film MAY get pushed up a month to a JANUARY release, according to an unnamed source that attended a press screening. We’ll keep you posted on that one.
• The Billy The Stick comic this month is a tribute to Clerks and View Askew. The simple comic features a black stick that comments on things.
• And finally today, this story might remind some of you of a female customer from Clerks…Scary stuff. Enjoy.

• Here’s those scans that we mentioned in a recent update, from UK movie magazine “Total Film”. As you can see, Jay & Bob get a ton of press in that part of the world, with these pages including a positive review of the film, along with two profile pieces on Ali Larter and Eliza Dushku. • Here’s an interesting tidbit – The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where there’s apparently a huge underground Kevin Smith following, will be holding a stage performance of “Clerks”. A theatre group on campus called The eXperimental Stage is producing the adaptation this Spring. Audtions, if you’re in the area, take place on Wednesday, November 7th.
• Ultimate X-Men writer Mark Millar sounds off on his favorite mainstream comics on The Fourth Rail, and Kevin’s work on both GREEN ARROW and DAREDEVIL is mentioned. Check out the piece HERE.
• And speaking of comics, those of you that follow Kevin’s books will be interested to know that a new interview with Clerks artist Jim Mahfood is located HERE.
• The James Madison University Program Board will be screening all VA films the week of December 3rd…Dates and showtimes are available HERE.
• “Clerks” will be shown at Arkansas State University on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 PM in the library, room 182, free to the public! For more info email ASUmovies@hotmail.com.
• Some cool news for those of you wondering how Jay & Bob fared in foreign markets – A movie site in Israel located HERE hosted a poll where viewers picked their favorite recent movie. For the past few days, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was that title, with a whopping average rating of 4.77 out of 5!

• Kevin has confirmed that there will indeed be a second Vulgarthon day on Tuesday, January 8th. This program will be the same flicks, Q&A, etc as the Monday program, so there’s really no need to attend both days – Like Kevin says, if you already have tix, at least let folks who didn’t get them have first dibs. Here’s Kevin with the official announcement:

• Jason Lee has been frequenting the WWWBoard lately, and thus has dropped a lot of info on his upcoming projects, favorite actors, and musical tastes. Lee has revealed he’ll reunite with “Mumford” director Lawrence Kasdan to work on the new big screen Stephen King story, “Dreamcatcher”. Sounds like a very cool project.

• It seems like there’s a lot of posts from folks begging for a second day of Vulgarthon, giving those that didn’t get tix for the Monday show a chance to catch the same program on Tuesday. Kevin’s still working on setting this up, and nothing is definite yet. He does have an update on what’s happened so far, here’s what’s up:

We’ll let you know as soon as something’s been decided. As always, feel free to show support for the second event and express your thoughts on an evening concert, etc. at the View Askew WWWBoard. Like Kevin says, the show would be LATE at night, as the thon runs usually around 12 hours, so a lot of you might just be ready to head back to your hotels (or home) and pass out. It’s your call!

• The Cape May Film Festival in Cape May, New Jersey will screen Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy on Saturday, Novemeber 17th. It’s $60 for a festival pass, or $5 for a individual film. You can find more info HERE under the “Film Festival” link.
• It wasn’t Vincent Guastini on Conan last week, but one of his assistants. Here’s Vinny with the details:

• In a “hot gifts” section of last week’s Entertainment Weekly, Jay and Bob are mentioned while describing how the Cast Away Wilson Volley ball is perfect for “The Silent Bob to your Raving Jay”.

• Finally today, catch some Askew vets in these two flicks: The Search for John Gissing, featuring Janeane Garofalo and Alan Rickman, will be having its world premiere at the American Film Institute Film Festival in Hollywood on Friday the 9th at 7:00pm. Chasing Amy & Dogma’s Dwight Ewell can be seen in “Punks”, currently in limited release.

• Kevin has reported that tickets to the Monday, January 7th Vulgarthon have SOLD OUT (in around 2 and a half hours). However, those of you that didn’t get tickets might be in luck, as, if there’s enough interest, they’re going to hold a second event, Tuesday, with the exact same lineup.
