- You’ve been asking, questioning, and wondering…And here finally is the first information on the Red Bank Dogma screening that folks have been talking about since the Stash Bash…It looks like some tough circumstances will prevent this from being the total blowout that Kevin hoped to hold, but it’s nice to see that the event will still happen. Keep in mind these are in no way final details, and things can change at the drop of a hat, but here’s Kevin with the details so far:
1) It’s going to be a benefit for diabetes – hence we’ll be charging minimum $20.00 for tickets.
2) There will only be 440 seats available, and the screening will more than likely be during the day.
3) We’re looking at either Oct. 11 or Oct. 18.
4) It’s going to be murder securing one of those 440 tickets, I’m sure – as we’re only going to allow only one ticket per order. Those 440 tickets are 440 seats exactly, so there will be no over-selling, and no one’s getting in unless their orders have been processed.
5) We’re not sure whether you’ll have to call in for tix, or whether we’ll use the secured online ordering system. More on that when we figure it out.
Unfortunately, the Count Basie Theatre ripped out their projectors and tore down their screen. So the posh, roomy, 1400 seat theatre was removed from the equation. We’re left with the downtown Red Bank Clearview Cinemas (the same place we did ‘Vulgarthon’). It won’t be the all day extravaganza that the aforementioned event was, nor even what the Stash Bash was. It’ll be a screening, and screening only (though we’re toying with the notion of a reception afterwards).
I know one, if not all of the five things we know so far are going to piss some folks off, disappoint others, and start many more jamming this board with ideas for how to improve the event. In the case of the latter, I’m asking you (nay, BEGGING you) to refrain from the armchair quarterbacking of suggesting better ways (or as is often the case on this board, more inane ways) to hold this event. We’re going to do this our way – nice and quiet-like, with minimal ceremony.
But I will say that any complaints should be directed to Vincent, as he’s in charge of the thing.
That is all.
Well folks, there ya have it…Like Kevin said, the screening WILL happen, but it’s gonna be tough to snag a seat. We’ll hopefully be invited to cover the event, so those of you that don’t manage to snag a ticket can at least feel close to being there. More news as it develops….
