- The duo appear yet again! There’s a Jay & Silent Bob poster in one of the panels of the Secret Origins 80-page Giant, out yesterday from DC. Here’s a look.
- In the nifty comic crossovers department: In Whiteout #2 from Oni, a scooper spots that the first panel of page 21has the main character smoking Nails cigarettes. The Askew influence keeps pushing onward…
- The “Chasing Amy” DIVX (*shudder*) has been spotted! We HIGHLY recommend you wait for the DVD, but it may make a nicecollector’s item, especially when DIVX gets buried in a couple months. These things sell for around 5 bucks, and you can watch them only in the first 48 hours (then they become pay-per-play again). Pieces of junk!
- Kevin was a no-show on AOL tonight. Hope none of you subscribed just to see him!
- And finally today, News Askew wishes a Happy Birthday to Matt Damon, who turns 28. Congrats.

Translate This Page…
- It’s not really news, but it’s just so much fun we had to share. Our scooper located this nifty web page that, as a gimmick, translates any OTHER web page into a “foreign” language. It seemed a bit slow, but after translating newsaskew.com to “Jive”, it was quite a hoot. Try it on this page, or another of your faves, for a good laugh!
Supes Project Back On…
- Some news courtesy of Dark Horizons and Cinescape: Apparently, “Superman Lives” is back on! Tim Burton will no longer direct (ironic, huh?)…No new director has been announced. Nic Cage will still play the Man of Steel. Here’s what we’re hearing:
And from Jon Peters:
No word yet of how much of Kevin’s original vision is maintained in this new draft, if any. We’ll do our best to uncover some details!
Mallrats Crew Shirt @ E-Bay!
- We’ve got the skinny on another RARE item from Mallrats up for auction over at E-Bay! This Mallrats Crew Shirt is a VERY rare item, only available to the folks that worked on the flick…If you’re a collector of Askew merchandise, this is definitely something you want to own. Happy bidding, folks. Good luck. We’re out of this one. Too rich for our blood, we bet!
Nike Ads Begin To Air…
- I was out trotting around the Philly area yesterday, so I missed South Park…Apparently, the first of the new Nike commercials, directed by Kevin, starring Jason Mewes, aired with that show (and other places as well!). Many of you caught this. Apparently, in this first ad, Jay is sitting on a bridge and talking about how comfy the shoes are…He tells folks to spread the word. We’ll have more details on the ads as we hear/see them, and maybe someone’ll even chuck them online soon…
Kev’s Bullet Points…
- Kevin dropped by and made a long post last night…Then lost it. But instead, he summed up some key points of the latest goings-on:
I was in the middle of a looooong post and I fell asleep – thus losing my long post, as a result of the wrong keys slept on.
Here are the bullet points:
– Daredevil #2 is out today
– The first Nike spot is in rotation
– I’m very thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given and thankful that you folks are still interested.
– Mos and I are headed to Hell-A tomorrow to meet with the composer (who I’ll reveal once the person’s deal is locked.
– We’re mixing at Skywalker Sound, on Lucas’ ranch.
– The film is now under two hours and forty five minutes.
– I’m tuckered out. I’ll chat with ya’ll when I get back.
We gotta say, if the deal goes through with the “mystery composer”, you won’t be sorry!
