- We promised more details, and here they are! The press release for the Nike ads:
“The Tuned Air launch will be supported by a series of TV and print ads which broke October 5. The TV commercials were directed by filmmaker Kevin Smith (“Clerks”, “Mallrats”, “Chasing Amy”) and star Jason Mewes who has appeared as Silent Bob’s sidekick in “Clerks,” “Mallrats” and “Chasing Amy.” In the spots, Mewes plays an activist trying to save the ground from being bruised and battered by athletes. The Nike Tuned Air shoe is the solution because its superior cushioning and stability protect the ground and, of course, your feet. The print campaign for Lady Foot Locker features a female runner who leaves a “Sorry” card on the paths where she runs to apologize for the pounding the trail has taken, and mentions that she now wears Nike Tuned Air shoes which help cushion her feet as well as the ground. The TV spots broke on NBC, WB, ABC and FOX networks, as well as on MTV, Comedy Central, BET, ESPN and FOX Sports Net. The print ads will appear in the December issues of Fitness, Glamour, Marie Claire, Self and Shape.”
