• Alright, so what happened, you wonder? It all started on Thursday when, during an update, our NEW server, Create-A-Web, kicked us off in the middle of an update due to anger over the amount of bandwitdth that News Askew was using. Apparently, when we signed on with the promise of unlimited traffic, they were lying. So, since then, we have been totally locked out from updating the site (until now). They would not even allow us to connect to put up a message informing you all what was going on, which is just very poor business practice. So, as we leave Create-A-Web after just a month or two of service, all we can say is we are HIGHLY disappointed in the service, not so much for forcing us out, but for the unprofessional and unfair way that is was done. Good riddance.

Now, onto the GOOD stuff. In case the title didn’t tip you off, we are now your OFFICIAL View Askew News Source! That’s right, us two schlubs are now the newest members of the View Askew team. News Askew has now moved to what will undeniably be our FINAL stop, View Askew’s own web server, as an official part of View Askew Productions.

Now, before ya get worried, don’t. We’ve talked to Kevin about all of this, and he’s been more than accomodating and fair about how everything’s going to work. News Askew will continue, business as usual, same address, same level of updates, e-mail replies, and the like. A few things had to go, but only copyrighted stuff, such as the movie scripts on Files Askewand the Alanis VH-1 track, for legal reasons. Hope you understand. We’ll no longer be able to link to things of this nature either, but you’ll have no problem tracking it down. Other than that, expect this site to remain unchanged, with the same commentaries, stories, and honesty that you’ve grown accustomed to.

If you feel slighted, like we’ve “sold out”, or that the site’s suffering somehow due to this, let us know. However, we think this is the best news this page has ever reported. No more downtime, server complaints, worries about moving, outrageous server bills, and the like. We feel that we’ve come home. And we like it here. We’re gonna stay.

Finally, we just gotta say this really is a dream come true for us. For two fanboys who set up a website a couple years back as an homage to some flicks that we really dig…To now be working for Kevin & View Askew is quite an honor. We’re proud to be a part of the team, and look forward to many more years of News Askew goodness. Here’s to the many good things to come…

• Well, now that you’re reading this, you’re saying FINALLY!!! It’s about time those lazy bums got back here and did an update! Actually, it’s a lot more complicated than that! We’ve actually been doing updates, the only thing is no one’s been able to read them except for US! So, we suggest that you read past today’s update since there’s at least one or two more that you probably missed! Dogma RC is also updated with all the latest on the official site, the trailer, clips, articles, and more. We’ve been busy! Why the delays, you ask? Read below:

• Our scooper was kind enough to transcribe the ENTIRE conversation with Kevin on Canada’s Open Mike show from last week. We hope to have some RealVideo of that appearance on the way, but until then, you can read what was discussed.

• Page 30, Entertainment Weekly also printed Kev’s top 5 Comic Book flicks, as we mentioned yesterday…Here’s a transcription of his faves. A few may surprise you!

• “Clerks” will be shown (35mm print) at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL (just outside Chicago) at Norris University Center on Friday, September 24 at 11:30PM and Saturday, Sept. 25 at 6:30PM. Admission is 3 bucks. Go and fillthem seats up!
• The DareDevil #1/2 issues that were only available through order in Wizard have started to ship. The story basicallyrevolves around the introduction between Kingpin and Mysterio. There’s some hilarous pics in the issue with Kev, Joe, & Jimmythat we’ve got for ya, along with a copy of the certificate of authenticity that comes with the book (since it’s rare) and,of course, the cover. All of it can be found on our DareDevil page. The DD page will most likely go dormant until Kev returns to the series, now. We’re still reading though. We’re hooked!
• Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue discussees the Top 100 movie moments. Kevin’s surprisingly missing from the Top100 list, except for his picks for the Top 5 comic book movies, however Amy does get an honorable mention of sorts:

Damon & Affleck are also named as the best offscreen duo of the 90’s in this section.

• We dunno if it was because of the popularity due to our mentioning of their abridged Clerks script the other day, butThe Editing Room has now posted abridged scripts for Mallrats and Chasing Amy as well!
• The VH-1 Storytellers Episode Featuring Alanis will premiere Sunday, October 3rd, at 10:30 PM ET. Here’s what she says about “Still”:

• Naturally, since Dogma premiered in Toronto, there’s been an amazing amount of requests for interviews with Kevin and the gang. Many pieces have surfaced on the web and in print over the past few days, and they’re all being added to Dogma Rumor Control’s Press Section. The standout piece comes to us from CNN, who write a long, detailed account of all the controversy surrounding the film, present 4 new stills, and 2 exclusive clips. You can find the clips linked at our files page, and the latest stories all on the press page.

• Ming dropped us a line with the excellent news that the Official Dogma Website (www.dogma-movie.com) has now gone online. The site is amazing, including a animated Flash-enhanced interface, TONS of behind the scenes stills, the complete Dogma Diaries that we compiled here at RC, and lots, lots more. Here’s Ming with a summary on the fruits of his efforts:

FINALLY: Ming tells us that the one sheet is speeding its way to him as we speak. It was pressed about 3 days ago. The Dogma site will present the one sheet any day now. We’ll have it here for ya, as well.

• Seems that smuggling digital cameras into movie theaters is becoming the new hip thing! Here’s a few shots from a “Mumford” screening this week, along with one of the poster. All are shots featuring Jason Lee, of course. We hear the flick’s pretty good, too.

• Joe Nozemack was kind enough to offer up another wonderful exclusive for us — The first look at Jay & Silent Bob #4, the long awaited final chapter in the series! From what we’ve read so far, it looks like this one’s gonna offer up some excellent Dogma foreshadowing and lead our characters right into the flick, just as promised. Here you see some EXCLUSIVE panels from the book (dialog removed for your protection, of course), so click the thumbs for a closer look, and enjoy!

• Looks like www.dogma-movie.com will be online sometime today, if not already as you’re reading this! We expect Ming’s promised versions of the FULL DOGMA TRAILER, and a ton more coolness along with it. Certainly a ton of new stuff to surf through. The site’s really slick so far, and that’s just the front page of it! “Enlightenment Begins!”
