- The always-helpful Internet Movie Database reports this sad info:
Fox has quickly dropped Significant Others from its Wednesday-night slot at 9 p.m. after it averaged only a 4.4 rating and a 7 share during three outings. Fox Entertainment president Peter Roth said Friday that the drama, from Party of Five creators Christopher Keyser and Amy Lippman, could return as early as this summer.
Okay, so we never watched the show, but it would have been nice to see Eion Bailey get some recognition to help out Vinnie’s flick! At least they’re bringing it back, hopefully at a better time slot…
- Chris created a View Askew chat page…check it out HERE.Many of these have failed in the past, so if you’re interested in chatting with other VA fans real time, now’s your chance.
- Matty’s named appeared in Premiere Magazine‘s list of the most powerful people in Hollywood! Mr. Showbiz released the list and Matt Damon was listed as #88. This puts him ahead of Michelle Pfeiffer (89), Demi Moore (92) and Sylvester Stallone (98).
- Speaking of Mr. Showbiz, here’s some more of that gossip they so love to speak of…
Minnie Driver, who lost the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Good Will Hunting but still had to watch Matt Damon, the guy who dumped her, collect a statue, may be rebounding. The New York Daily News reports that the actress has been spending time with singer Elliott Smith, who penned Hunting’s Oscar-nominated song “Miss Misery.” How appropriate. Minnie—who reportedly left one of the Oscar parties in tears after bumping into Matt and his new squeeze, Winona Ryder and Smith were spotted holding hands at a Mary Lou Lord show in Los Angeles last week, says the paper. And the actress reportedly spent some time backstage with him at one of his own shows. But Driver’s rep denies there’s a love connection. “They’re just friends,” her spokeswoman, Lisa Casteller, tells the News. “I hold hands with Minnie and we’re not dating.”
- And now, the REALLY harsh stuff, the CyberSleaze:
HELL HATH NO FURY QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Matt and Ben are off on their owntrip. Whatever they’re doing, they’re just in a different universe and not one I’m particularly interested in being affiliated with. I’m happy to see them sky-rocket into their own egotistical oblivion. I wish them the very best in whatever they do.” – MINNIE DRIVER talks about her ex, MATT DAMON and his best friend BEN AFFLECK.
