The other night Fran Drescher was on the Tonight Show and she talked about running into Ben Affleck (oh God, memory problem, I’m sure it was him and not Matt Damon but not 100%) and said she first saw him in Chasing Amy.

Anyway, she then said that he seemed taken aback by meeting her and said something to the effect that could he kiss her. She said yes and then she said something to the effect he could do more then kiss her if he wanted to.

But would he hafta listen to her talk, too? Yikes.

  • Dwight Ewell‘s got himself a bit part in the Henry Thomas arthouse film “Niagara, Niagara” which opened regionally on March 20th. We hear that his scene is excellent, too. You may have seen ads for the flick running on MTV lately (at least, we have). It’s produced by The Shooting Gallery and certainly looks interesting. Too bad we live in a rural location where releases like that never hit our theatres…

  • A lot of you have been mailing us about this, and, after finally seeing a trailer, we can see why. There’s a new Jennifer Aniston flick coming out called “The Object of My Affection”. What’s it about, you ask? Well, apparently ‘ol Jen falls in love with a gay guy, and tries desperately to get him to return her affection. Sound familiar? And if you think it SOUNDS bad, it REALLY looks like an obvious Amy ripoff. We like looking at Jennifer as much as the next guy, sure, but we still suggest you avoid this flick at all costs.
  • Chalk up yet another successful screening for Vincent & “A Better Place”. After a HIGHLY attended screening at IUP, our scooper reports a fine time was had by a smaller, but attentive crowd at the St. Joes screening. Click the link at the top of our page for all the latest FlixTour dates!

INSIGNIFICANT RATINGS FOR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS

Fox has quickly dropped Significant Others from its Wednesday-night slot at 9 p.m. after it averaged only a 4.4 rating and a 7 share during three outings. Fox Entertainment president Peter Roth said Friday that the drama, from Party of Five creators Christopher Keyser and Amy Lippman, could return as early as this summer.

Okay, so we never watched the show, but it would have been nice to see Eion Bailey get some recognition to help out Vinnie’s flick! At least they’re bringing it back, hopefully at a better time slot…

  • Chris created a View Askew chat page…check it out HERE.Many of these have failed in the past, so if you’re interested in chatting with other VA fans real time, now’s your chance.
  • Matty’s named appeared in Premiere Magazine‘s list of the most powerful people in Hollywood! Mr. Showbiz released the list and Matt Damon was listed as #88. This puts him ahead of Michelle Pfeiffer (89), Demi Moore (92) and Sylvester Stallone (98).
  • Speaking of Mr. Showbiz, here’s some more of that gossip they so love to speak of…
Is Minnie Driver Moving On?

Minnie Driver, who lost the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Good Will Hunting but still had to watch Matt Damon, the guy who dumped her, collect a statue, may be rebounding. The New York Daily News reports that the actress has been spending time with singer Elliott Smith, who penned Hunting’s Oscar-nominated song “Miss Misery.” How appropriate. Minnie—who reportedly left one of the Oscar parties in tears after bumping into Matt and his new squeeze, Winona Ryder and Smith were spotted holding hands at a Mary Lou Lord show in Los Angeles last week, says the paper. And the actress reportedly spent some time backstage with him at one of his own shows. But Driver’s rep denies there’s a love connection. “They’re just friends,” her spokeswoman, Lisa Casteller, tells the News. “I hold hands with Minnie and we’re not dating.”

MINNIE DRIVING FOR AN IDEAL HUSBAND: The actress famously scorned by MATT DAMON, MINNIE DRIVER has now found a new way to snag her ideal husband – she will just star in the movie. After splitting with Hollywood golden boy Damon (yuk), the dumped Driver is throwing herself into work, starring in OSCAR WILDE’s AN IDEAL HUSBAND. Driver is to play a politician’s sister-in-law who finds out her sister’s marriage to a statesman is a sham. Production starts in June.

HELL HATH NO FURY QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Matt and Ben are off on their owntrip. Whatever they’re doing, they’re just in a different universe and not one I’m particularly interested in being affiliated with. I’m happy to see them sky-rocket into their own egotistical oblivion. I wish them the very best in whatever they do.” – MINNIE DRIVER talks about her ex, MATT DAMON and his best friend BEN AFFLECK.

Rats Alumni…

April 1st @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Invzblman

  • Dark Horizons, our favorite movie news site, reports on a new flick that’s got vampires & a few Mallrats alumni as well! Sounds interesting…Here’s the scoop:
This summer a vampire movie is being filmed at South Jersey shore. “Cold Hearts” is slated to be shot in May and June. Rumor has it Tom Savini LTD. is doing the effects, with a possible cameo by Tom himself. This is a debut film from ‘How Bad Productions, Inc.’

The following actors are RUMORED for casting possibilities: Reene Humphrey (“Mallrats”), Hilliary Swank (“Next Karate Kid”, “90210”), Jeremy London (“Party of Five”), Joshua Jackson (“Dawson’s Creek”), Charisma Carpenter (“Buffy, the Vampire Slayer”), and Danielle Fishel (“Boy Meets World”). I might be able to find out some final casting info in about two weeks.

Here is what I know of the story: “Cold Hearts” is a classic tale of boy meets girl and good versus evil… only everyone in the story posesses a secret, and there are many twists and turns. From what I can tell, this is not a traditional vamp flick although there is said to be some pretty intense scenes. I don’t have access to the full script, so I guess they want to keep the ending a secret.
