• CDNOW has the Dogma soundtrack online at their site, and with it, sound bites from each of the tracks that can be found on it. For a sampling of that wonderful Shore score, surf over and check it out.
• Dogma Book Clarification: The hardcover from Hyperion, which has been scheduled to come out for about a year now, has been cancelled. Amazon may just have not taken it off the page yet. A source from Barnes & Noble tells us that it stills shows up on their computers, but if you try ordering it you’re told it’s been cancelled within a day or so. So stick with the softcover version of the screenplay coming out in a few weeks. That’s bound to be it. Heheh…”Bound”. I made a pun.
• We’ve gotten a few mails about the Creative Screenwriting piece with Kevin in the latest issue — Dunno if we mentioned it yet, but in case we didn’t, here ya go. Get yourself a copy of the mag, cuz we don’t have a transcription of the interview which is quite long. The piece concerns DOGMA, and also has a nifty sidebar analyzing and comparing the 3rd and final drafts. The issue also has interviews with Neil Gaiman and Paul Dini (although the guy interviewing him disses Kevin’s SUPERMAN script), and lots of other goodies. It’s on newsstands now.

Alright, so the free screenings of the flick prior to the 12th continue to pop up. Here’s a few more tidbits for those of you who still haven’t found a show to attend yet:

• San Francisco State University — Tuesday, November 9th in the McKenna Theater in the Creative Arts Building. No further information on who and how many will be admitted. Sorry.
• Atomic Comics in Mesa, AZ is distributing passes to Dogma on November 4. The passes are good for Nov. 10th. This is an advanced screening and your chance to catch the flick a full 2 days before the rest of the country!
• Okay, Canucks, here’s your chance: Toronto’s National Post is giving away 50 tickets to a screening of Dogma for Wednesday, November 10th at the Paramount theatre. Now, let’s summarize what we know for the appearance timeline, including Kev and a couple of other View Askew vets, as well:

• Huh. It’s November already. How the heck did that happen?

Just think, in just 11 days, a lot of you will get your first (or, in some cases, second or third) look at Dogma. We’ve been following the project for close to 2 years now, so we’ve got to say, it’s an exciting (and busy) time for us as well.

Got a few various items today, but again, most of them pertain to Dogma. Kevin’s got a lot of press in the coming weeks, so we’ll do our best to stay on top of that so you can at least set the VCR. Free Dogma screenings continue to pop up around the country, as well. We’ll be focusing on those, but only up until the release date, then you can just sidle on up to your local multiplex and buy yourself a ticket. It’s a very interesting weekend at the box office, with Luc Besson‘sJoan of Arc flick, the dreaded Pokemon movie (which reminds me, this Wednesday’s South Park which mocks all that is Pokemon is supposed to be a KILLER), and Dogma all hitting screens that Friday.

Kudos to Lions Gate for getting Dogma EVERYWHERE on television and in the papers — We’ve been seeing stuff everywhere. It would be nice to see a new commercial cut that takes the more serious/action-oriented view of the picture to complement the light-hearted, comedic spot that’s airing now. That way, the depth of the movie can truly be seen, and audience appeal broadened. It’s a little late in the game, perhaps, but we sure think it would do wonders for the film promotion-wise.
