- Wow, this was news to us — Apparently Dogma had its Los Angeles premiere last night, and along with it, a celebrity packed post party! An anonymoyus scooper who was there checks in with the guest list, the scene, and more:
Kev
Scott
Ben
Jason (a much bigger guy than he appears on screen)
Alanis
Salma
Bud Cort
Giovanni Ribisi (Saving Private Ryan, Mod Squad)
Ed Norton (most recently of Fight Club)
Harvey Weinstein
Henry Thomas (only saw him at party; don’t know about screeing)
Michael Keaton (only saw him at party; don’t know about screeing)
Someone told me they saw Gwyneth Paltrow, but I didn’t see her myself.
There were also about 5-10 people who I recognized, but couldn’t place.
The screening went very well, and the crowd was enthusiastic. Of course, the biggest laughs were for Jay, who gets the best lines. Kev and Scott were introduced by a guy from Lions Gate, and then Kev spoke for a few minutes. He pointed out that it’s interesting screening it for the Godless, soulless Hollywood crowd. The new cuts (saw it last many months ago) all worked very well, although I hope they show up in some form on the DVD (one good thing about it not being a Disney film isthat maybe we’ll get a better DVD).
The party was jammed. There were basically four rooms, one of them being the “celebrity” room. That’s where all the stars were, with the one exception being Jason Lee, who was in another room with some friends. Naturally, the celebrity room was hard to get into. There were also a lot of women in that room who were exactly as good-looking as they obvously knew they were. I don’t know how long it went on, but I left at about 12:15 (had to get back to work, believe it or not), and it was still going strong. Salma and Ed Norton left at around 11 (nottogether).
