- Here’s a weird one: Someone online has come up with the odd idea of combining South Park and Babylon 5. The site is http://www.infinicorp.com/babylonpark On one of their pages there is a big “Cast Photo” of all the characters on “Babylon Park”. And way in the back, for no apparent reason, are Jay and Silent Bob. Go figure. WEIRD. Anyway, check out the picture above and see for yourself!

Superman Concept Art…

- An astute reader of AICN noticed this concept art For SUPERMAN LIVES…Let’s hear what they had to say (of course, click the thumbs for full views above):
Kevin Checks In…
- You knew (and hoped) it was coming, and here it is! Kevin stopped in at the ‘ol WWWBoard to report all the latest developments in his life…Which turn out to amount to pretty much nothing, actually, but still prove amusing none the less:
The LA trip was fine, and I’ll be able to tell you more about it in the coming weeks.
Jennifer started working at Mtv today. We’re all very proud of her ’round these parts.
Short of that, the only other thing I can impart right about now is…
“Now deejay RUN’s my name!”
“Jam Master JAY is his!”
“He’s DMC…”
“It’s like THAT…”
“And that’s the way it IS!”
I wish it was last night all over again.
Commentary
- Hey folks…Welcome to, as far as I know, the first multi-state News Askew update…I’ll be in the Boston area for the next couple weeks, with Chris running things at home base. Thank goodness for modern technology! Anyway, I’ve had a long day and am REALLY tired, so let’s get this over with. By the way, thank goodness for HBO and big 27 inch TV’s in hotel rooms! First Mars Attacks, now The Devil’s Advocate…The best of the last year’s movies that no one else liked! Ahhh….

- We hear that the reason for the delay of the Jay & Silent Bob figures is that demand has just been OVERWHELMING, and that the design company that’s shipping them is doing their best to keep up…Hopefully they’ll be everywhere soon!
- “Good Will Hunting” is now available for purchase on VHS through Columbia House Video Club.
- Kevin (and many others) will be appearing at the Big Apple Comic Con (At least, that’s what the flyers say), on the 13th and 14th of Novemeber (Friday and Saturday). Here’s the details:
Also featuring: Joe Quesada!
Jimmy Palmiotti!
Amanda Conner!
Jim Lawson!
Apollo Smile!
Bill Plympton!
And a whole lot More…DON’T MISS IT!
The Big Apple Comic Book & Toy Show:

$6.00 each day!
Big Apple Con Hotline: 718-326-2713
- Finally today, a “Dogma” Clipping found in a Soap Opera Update/Matt Damon Mag. It contains some general plot info, so,if you want to remain TOTALLY spoilerless, don’t read it, but we figure it’s nothing too hurtful:
Overnight Delivery On Starz…
- “Overnight Delivery” will be airing on Starz this Monday at 6:25 AM, and Tuesday and 9:45 AM. Now you don’t hafta pay to see this debacle (if you get the channel). Actually, the movie isn’t AWFUL, it’s just NOT a Smith flick after the script butchery.
Nike Ads Begin To Air…
- We promised more details, and here they are! The press release for the Nike ads:

- The duo appear yet again! There’s a Jay & Silent Bob poster in one of the panels of the Secret Origins 80-page Giant, out yesterday from DC. Here’s a look.
- In the nifty comic crossovers department: In Whiteout #2 from Oni, a scooper spots that the first panel of page 21has the main character smoking Nails cigarettes. The Askew influence keeps pushing onward…
- The “Chasing Amy” DIVX (*shudder*) has been spotted! We HIGHLY recommend you wait for the DVD, but it may make a nicecollector’s item, especially when DIVX gets buried in a couple months. These things sell for around 5 bucks, and you can watch them only in the first 48 hours (then they become pay-per-play again). Pieces of junk!
- Kevin was a no-show on AOL tonight. Hope none of you subscribed just to see him!
- And finally today, News Askew wishes a Happy Birthday to Matt Damon, who turns 28. Congrats.
Translate This Page…
- It’s not really news, but it’s just so much fun we had to share. Our scooper located this nifty web page that, as a gimmick, translates any OTHER web page into a “foreign” language. It seemed a bit slow, but after translating newsaskew.com to “Jive”, it was quite a hoot. Try it on this page, or another of your faves, for a good laugh!
Supes Project Back On…
- Some news courtesy of Dark Horizons and Cinescape: Apparently, “Superman Lives” is back on! Tim Burton will no longer direct (ironic, huh?)…No new director has been announced. Nic Cage will still play the Man of Steel. Here’s what we’re hearing:
And from Jon Peters:
No word yet of how much of Kevin’s original vision is maintained in this new draft, if any. We’ll do our best to uncover some details!
