  • As promised, here’s a scan of the cover from the upcoming Clerks trade paperback. This thing appeared in Previews this month, but we ALSO found it at Oni Press’s website with the following writeup:
Just in time for the March debut of the all-new CLERKS: THE ANIMATED SERIES, Oni Press and View Askew bring you a collection of all the CLERKS comics to date. Relive the fun and profanity as Randal searches for the rarest STAR WARS toys, Jay and Silent Bob go to work for Santa Claus, and Dante gets thrown out of a funeral for feeling up the corpse. Featuring art by Jim (GRRL SCOUTS) Mahfood, Phil (SWAMP THING) Hester, and Ande Parks, with an all-new color cover by Chris Bailey, art director of the new ABC cartoon. Don’t be another snotty clerk; make sure you have enough of these on hand! In stores: March 2000
$10.95 US, $14.95 Can

We’re not sure if this means the Clerks Animated Series is pushed back to a March debut or not, but we’ll try and find out.

  • Clarification: The Daredevil hardcover special edition we mentioned yesterday has MOST of the stuff listed included on the CD-ROM inside. The set is basically just a smyth-sewn hardbound, slipcased book autographed by Kevin, Joe and Jimmy, with the CD thrown in. Still sounds way cool to us.
  • Speaking of books, how about buying YOURSELF a little Christmas gift with your spare change? That’s right, you can get the Jay & Silent Bob trade paperback (or another book of your choice) WAY cheap from Barnes and Noble online (bn.com)! With this $10 off ANY ITEM coupon (no minimum!), we got Jay & Silent Bob for $3.50 shipped! CBN2222. Merry Christmas.
  • And hey, speaking of book SITES (how’s THAT for a segue?), Borders online has an interview with Kevin that we don’t believe we mentioned before. Read it HERE.
  • Wow, if this ain’t ever a neat little site http://www.boxofficemojo.com/dogma.html. They keep track of box office by DAY (not week or even weekend!). So, surfing here gets ya Dogma’s gross for each day since it’s been out (though it seems they’re lagging in updates due to the holiday weekend) — Still, way cool. And it looks like the flick’s doing okay, considering the competition, too. We’re impressed.
  • We’re receiving reports that the FULL (in fact, perhaps an even newer LONGER) Dogma trailer is now playing in UK theaters. Rush out and get your first glimpse at some real footage on the big screen! Won’t be long now, overseas friends…
  • To round out their collection, the Abridged Dogma Script has now been posted, and is up to its usually funny, biting standards. Check it out.
  • As we reported a week or so ago, Salma Hayek, bless her heart, is taking some time to entertain and meet some of our lucky US troops. Here’s the Infobeat report:
PRISTINA, Yugoslavia (AP) – NATO peacekeepers had something to be thankful for Wednesday – kisses, pictures and autographs from Salma Hayek. The actress made a holiday goodwill visit to peacekeepers, signing T-shirts and posing for pictures with dozens of soldiers from the United States, Germany and France. “I’ve kissed thousands of soldiers today,” she said. “It’s not a bad job.” Hayek, 31, who appears in the film “Dogma,” was taking part in the USO-sponsored tour, Operation Starlift, with actress Danica McKellar and comedian Garrett Morris. “It’s letting them know that we care,” Hayek said, “and that we admire them and are thankful for their courage.”
  • Wizard’s posted a great piece from an author whose name we recognize as a reader of this site (which confuses us as to why he never sent it in, unless he did and we’re just losing it.) — But anyway, it’s called “Living The Kevin Smith Dream” and you’ll definitely wanna check it out.
